TEMPO SCAN SUPPORTS EIJKMAN INSTITUTE FOR MOLECULAR BIOLOGY TO EXPEDITE COVID-19 DETECTION

As the realization of Tempo Scan’s commitment of donation worth Rp 10 billion already given on 3 April 2020 to the National Agency for Disaster Management (BNPB) and immediately handed over to Eijkman Institute for Molecular Biology (LBM Eijkman), there has been the inauguration for the operating of COVID-19 Detection Machine of Cobas 6800 Fully Automated Molecular System in LBM Eijkman, which is one of the main reference laboratories in Indonesia for COVID-19 testing.

The inauguration was conducted by Prof. Bambang Permadi Soemantri Brodjonegoro, PhD as the Minister of Research and Technology (Menristek) / Chairman of National Agency for Research and Innovation (BRIN), attended by Ms. Tetty Saragih, Ak. as the Chief Inspector of BNPB, Komjen. Pol. Drs. Bambang Sunarwibowo, S.H., M.Hum. as the Chief Secretary of State Intelligence Agency (BIN), Prof. dr. Amin Soebandrio, PhD., Sp.MK(K) as the Chairman of LBM Eijkman, and Handojo S. Muljadi as the President Commissioner of PT Tempo Scan Pacific Tbk (Tempo Scan).

With the maximum capacity of 1,000 tests/24 hours, its operation is expected to help enhance the laboratory capacity and expedite the COVID-19 disease detection so that the treatment for those confirmed positive can be more optimal.

In his speech, Handojo S. Muljadi conveyed his appreciation to LBM Eijkman as the national asset having worked hard in accelerating the management of COVID-19. Tempo Scan realized that the COVID-19 management requires participation and collaboration from all levels of society. Tempo Scan supports the Government’s efforts to expedite the overcoming of COVID-19 pandemic. This is in accordance with Tempo Scan’s spirit of Working Wholeheartedly for Indonesia, especially in building national solidarity and rising up against COVID-19.

This donation to LBM Eijkman is a part of Tempo Scan’s total donation commitment of Rp 17.5 billion which has been fully realized and distributed to medical workers, hospitals, Indonesian Red Cross (PMI), social institutions, and other volunteers taking part in COVID-19 management.

The spirit is founded on Tempo Scan’s core values, among others Usefulness and Responsibility which have always been the main guidelines for over 66 years of Tempo Scan’s being born and developed in Indonesia.
